| May 26, 2001 Bat House Workshop participants built 14 bat houses and boned up on their bat facts. One team reported that the colony of Mexican Free-tails living in their Spanish tile roof is of sufficient size that it takes them about 15 minutes to exit and is there all year round, which would indicate a small, local breeding population, contrary to popular literature indicating most of the bats migrate to the Central Texas Hillcountry to reproduce. |
