| Two groups of Cub Scouts from Troop 288 enjoyed their second end of the year hiking adventure with the Nature Center. Split into two groups for convenience and increased learning opportunities, youths and parents met with Nature Center director, Carol Cullar, for a two hour hike through the countryside on Friday evening and Saturday morning. The boys ranged in age from eight to nine years.
The hike focused on desert survival, geology of the region, and native plants and animals. Hosted by the Cunningham Ranch, the explorers were fascinated by Indian artifacts and the finding of meteorites, termed bediasites. |
